Here a couple random notes I'm paying attention to right now:

AXIS at SURU - British-American graffiti artist AXIS is holding his first art show at SURU in Los Angeles. The show goes up on Nov. 15th. more info at http://suru-la.com/

Funny "Aside" from http://blackrimglasses.com/: "How to manage a startup in a downturn... How about stop going to so many fucking conferences and stop putting on parties. How about investing in actually starting up a company rather than seeing the same people in different locations every two weeks talking about the same things. Just saying."

Viva La Hova - just released online; a mixtape by Mick Boogie featuring mashups of Jay-Z and Coldplay songs. Like the Grey Album, but without the Beatles (or like Collision Course, but...). No disrespect though--there are some cool tracks.

MTV Videos - Albeit about 5 years too late, MTV has put their video database online. Now you can search for any video in their collection. Might as well do it online, you're not going to see any of this stuff on their channel, if you haven't already watched it on youtube. http://www.mtvmusic.com/

Shouts out to Charlie Bravo and Mr. Hahn for the heads-up. mike

artist greg simkins' IT WANDERS EAST show is winding down at josh liner's gallery in NYC...being in LA, i didn't get to see the show in person, but i hope to catch it when it travels WEST to GALLERY 1988 soon. greg is one of my favorite new artists; he's a remarkably talented and authentic dude. keep an eye on him and his amazing work.

for "it wanders east" images, dates, and address, go here: http://joshualinergallery.com/exhibitions/main.php?g2_itemId=536

  • new comments rule, yoskay commission

    September 25, 2008 41 Comments

FIRSTLY, we have a new rule here for comments. you'll notice under "Post a Comment" it says:

One post per person, and please don't go over the character limit, or split posts into multiple entries. To post a comment on this site you will need to be a member of the Linkin Park Network.

this is a polite request, to eliminate all the multiple-post entries in the comments section. it seems that when one person monopolizes the whole comments page, it turns some other people off. personally, i don't mind people having a lot to say, but i challenge you to simplify it into a something that fits into the character limit. if you find you simply have a lot to say, then feel free to do your thing on your own blog, or the linkinpark.com message boards, and link to your post from here.

    next:

when i saw how amazing his projekt rev poster was coming out, i asked yoskay yamamoto if he's consider doing a painting on commission for me. i got it today. looks so great!

i'm a little late on posting this (i wanted to post it a few days ago...but late is better than never)

shepard fairey's DUALITY OF HUMANITY is up now, at white walls and the shooting gallery in san francisco.

shepard's ability to balance the commercial and gallery art scenes is pretty unique. from his original guerilla "andre the giant has a posse" art to his obama "hope" image and this show, the guy's work is consistently thoughtful, provocative, and beautifully-crafted. check these out...
