  • Chi Benefit show Tomorrow

    There are two benefit shows for Deftones' bassist Chi Cheng, who was severely injured in a car accident and is currently in a semi-conscious state. I will be playing a song with the guys on Thursday night. If you are in town tomorrow, come to The Avalon for an amazing (and very unique) show.

  • LPU9 CD TRACK LISTING

    As promised, here's the big announcement about the LP Underground 9 fan club package for 2010.

    The package will be available in December. As usual, LPU members are eligible for in-person meet-and-greets with the band at shows and other special events. All members receive the LPU newsletter and collectible items, and access to the LPU fan club community...but the real gem here is the LPU9 CD. Here's this year's track listing:

    For those of you who have been keeping track, "Across The Line" is a brand new, unreleased song. It was recorded during the "Minutes To Midnight" sessions, and was originally entitled "Japan." We know a lot of the fans on the LPU boards have wanted to hear this song, in its entirety, for a long time. We're putting it on the LPU9 CD for you!

  • Google: New Music Search Function

    Looks like it's conference week for me (ha). Today, Google announced their new music search function, and I was invited to speak on a panel regarding the new function, what it means for the fan (like us) who wants to find and purchase new music. I met and spoke with a handful of really smart, really fun peeps (shouts out to Bill, Courtney, Ali, RJ and all the awesome Google staff).

    What I think most of you will be interested to know is that Google is rolling this function out in the U.S. right now. When you search for new music, you will immediately see a few options of songs to play, plus links to the artists tour dates and purchase options. Knowing how much we all hate clicking on a dozen things to get to the place we want, this is a welcome improvement (now all I need to do is finally get our tech department to do the same with our linkinpark.com, LPU, and LPN login).

    Here's the info from their blog, and a picture from the event. Keep an eye out online, as there will be some performances--including one by Dead By Sunrise.
